Fees are charged per class. A mark filed in Class 30 and Class 43 costs AED 13,000 in official fees.
Discounts and exemptions
- SMEs: members of the National Programme for SMEs and Establishments receive a 50% exemption on trademark service fees.
- People of Determination: full exemption.
Late payment penalties
Pay on time. If the publication fee is not paid within 30 days of acceptance, a penalty of AED 100 per month applies (up to AED 1,000 a year). If the registration fee is not paid within 30 days after the opposition period, the penalty is AED 1,000 per month (up to AED 10,000 a year).

What a firm adds
Official fees are the same for everyone. On top, a trademark firm or agent charges for its work: clearance search and advice, drafting the goods and services, filing, answering objections and following the file to the certificate. How to keep the cost down
- File only the classes you really use or will use soon — every class adds AED 6,500.
- Search first. A refusal costs you the examination fee and time.
- Pay each stage on time to avoid monthly penalties.
- Check if you qualify for the SME programme discount.
- Use the expedited one-day examination only when speed matters; it does not shorten the publication and opposition stages.
