What you pay, and when
UAE trademark fees are paid in three stages: AED 750 per class when you file (examination), AED 750 when the mark is accepted and published in the gazette, and AED 5,000 after the 30-day opposition period to register it. Registration lasts 10 years from filing. See the full UAE trademark fees guide and check your name before you pay anything.
Questions about UAE trademark costs
How much does a trademark cost in the UAE?
Official fees are AED 6,500 per class: AED 750 examination, AED 750 publication and AED 5,000 registration. A trademark agent or IP firm charges its own professional fee on top.
Do I pay per class?
Yes. Each class of goods or services costs the full official fee. A restaurant that also sells packaged food needs two classes, for example.
Is a logo a separate trademark?
If you file the name and the logo separately, they are two applications and each pays its own fees. Filing the name alone (word mark) usually gives the widest protection.
What is the one-day examination?
A faster examination for AED 2,250 instead of AED 750 per class — the application is examined within one working day.
Can small businesses pay less?
Members of the UAE SME programme get a 50% reduction on official fees.
