Trademark renewal and grace period by country

Almost every registration lasts 10 years and can be renewed forever — if you renew on time and keep using the mark. Grace periods and non-use rules differ by country.

Never miss a renewal

How to read this table

Term is how long each registration or renewal lasts. Grace period is the extra time to renew late, usually for a surcharge. Non-use is how long a mark can go unused before others can ask to cancel it. US owners also file a declaration of use between years 5 and 6 — see renewal deadlines.
