Quick answer
A UAE trademark does not protect you in Oman, and the other way round — you need both. The UAE charges AED 6,500 per class and allows several classes in one application with a 30-day opposition period; Oman has its own fee schedule, one class per application, and an opposition period of 60 days from publication. Both are in the Madrid System.

Why you need both
Trademarks are territorial: a UAE registration gives no rights in Oman, and the other way round. Both are first-to-file, so someone who files your name first in Oman can block you there even if you own it in the UAE. Register in every market where you sell or manufacture.
How to cover both
- Through Madrid: both the UAE and Oman are in the Madrid System. A UAE owner can extend a UAE application or registration to Oman in one international application; an owner elsewhere can designate both. Each office still examines the mark under its own rules.
- Nationally in each: file directly with each office — often better when you need local wording of goods, expect objections, or want a national certificate quickly.
- Start where you sell first: file there, then claim priority in the other within 6 months (Paris Convention) so the earlier date protects you.
Good to know about Oman
- Oman applies the GCC Trademark Law, promulgated by Royal Decree No. 33/2017 and in force from the day after its publication in the Official Gazette on 30 July 2017.
- Oman has been a member of the Madrid Protocol since 16 October 2007, so it can be designated in international applications.
- Multi-class applications have not been available in Oman; each class is filed separately.
- A registration can be cancelled at the request of an interested party if the mark has not been seriously used for five consecutive years.
- Goods conflicting with public order, such as alcoholic beverages in class 33 and pork products in class 29, are not accepted for registration (practitioner source).
