What is a trademark watch?
A watch compares every new trademark published in the UAE gazette with your marks. When a new application looks or sounds like yours, you are told while you can still oppose it.
Why does the timing matter?
After a UAE application is published, anyone can oppose it within 30 days. Once that window closes the mark can go on to registration, and removing it later is slower and costs much more.
What do you compare?
The mark’s name — spelling, sound and words inside longer names — and, when you upload one, the shape of your logo. You can limit a watch to your classes; related classes (for example cosmetics and pharmaceuticals) are still checked.
Which marks are covered?
Every mark published for opposition in the UAE trademark gazette: national applications and international (Madrid) registrations published in the UAE.
Is an alert a legal opinion?
No. An alert shows a mark that may conflict with yours. Whether to oppose — and filing the opposition — is for a UAE IP firm or lawyer.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Paid plans are monthly and you can cancel at any time from your watch; the plan stays on until the end of the month you paid for.
