Check who you’re hiring
- Licence or registration. Ask for the bar or professional register number and check it. For the USPTO, foreign-domiciled owners need a US-licensed attorney; many other countries require a local agent — see rules by country.
- Representation on the record. In many countries only registered agents can file. Firms on TrademarksHub come from WIPO’s Madrid register of representatives.
- Their domain. A real firm emails from its own website domain — not a free webmail address.
Compare quotes like for like
- Is it a fixed fee or hourly? What happens if there is an office action?
- Are official fees included or extra? Per class?
- Is a search and opinion included?
- Who will actually do the work, and in which country?
Red flags
- “Guaranteed registration.” No one can guarantee an examiner’s decision.
- Unsolicited letters that look official, asking you to pay to “publish” or “register” your mark in a private database.
- Pressure to pay everything up front before any search.
How TrademarksHub helps
Post one request — privately, shown as “Private brand owner”. Only firms that cover the countries you chose can reply. Firms are verified when they sign up with an email on their own website domain, or after a review by our team. You chat on the platform without sharing your number, and you instruct the firm you choose directly. TrademarksHub is not a law firm. How it works.
A typical request on TrademarksHub
“A brand owner received three quotes for an EU filing ranging from EUR 450 to EUR 1,400 and wants to understand the difference before choosing.”
Illustrative example. On TrademarksHub requests are shown as “Private brand owner”, and only firms that cover the chosen countries can reply.
