## Good to know
- Namibia can be covered three ways: a national BIPA application, an ARIPO application under the Banjul Protocol (in force for Namibia since 14 January 2004), or a Madrid international registration (in force since 30 June 2004).
- The applicant, not the office, arranges advertisement of the accepted mark in the Industrial Property Bulletin and must report the bulletin date to the examiner.
- Applications are filed on paper (Form TM 1) at the Trademarks Office or a ministry regional office, and fees are paid at the cashier or by EFT.
- Renewal is due on or before the tenth anniversary of registration; an unrenewed mark is removed from the register.
- BIPA is a registration authority only; enforcement is the owner's responsibility.
